Project: Seawolf

Worklog: Here
Project Seawolf is yet another classy use of some serious big boy's modding tools month. Those lathes sure do come in handy, I wonder if there's room for one in our lab... Back on topic, Javerh's first project log has been a massive success on our project log forum since it was started in January racking up near 40,000 views.
As for the design, well we're not entirely sure what Project: Seawolf is going to look like when it's done but, according to Javerh, there will be some clear influence from the Dodge Viper, Saab Aero X and orca-whales not to mention an aerodynamic look. It all adds to the suspense we suppose but the worklog is a fascinating read too so make sure you check it out if only for the latest updates.
First off and here are some curved sections which Javerh apparently found in a curtain shop. They appear to make up part of the externals of the case at the rear. We can see how Javerh has made them hold their shape, bolting them to the beginnings of the frame.
You guessed right, it
was a toaster. Not any more, in fact this is the new home for the PSU which will apparently sit neatly amongst the curved pieces. We were a little concerned about the exposed PSU innards though being so near to the steel - please be careful Javerh! You don't want a frizzy hairdo!
There's some more pretty unorthadix stuff going on with the cooling too. Ever wondered what a radiator looks like if you cut it in half? Look no further! Javerh has even fashioned a new port to use the slimmed down bit of cooling hardware in some tight spaces in the case. Things look pretty sketchy for a while but the end result looks brilliant and as if it actually came like that. This large lump of Teflon was to eventually make up a custom reservoir top for a DDC pump after lots of time on the lathe.
In some more recent updates to his work log, Javerh shows us the case coming together. We can see where the custom radiators will go too. Javerh found a large aluminium heatsink in a rubbish pile but it's going to be put to good use on the front of the case with a small section cut out to house USB ports.
We highly recommend taking a look at Javerh's project log and if you think Project: Seawolf deserves to win this month, head over to
our forums and vote.
That's all for this month, we wish all of our contenders the very best of luck!
